Augusta boys and girls sweep St. Patrick

Augusta swept a boys' and girls' doubleheader against St. Patrick on Wednesday night at The Shamrock.

The Panthers scored 20 straight points in the first half on their way to an 80-46 victory over the Saints. 

Augusta (14-5) was led in scoring by Kylan Hinson with 20 points. Conner Snapp followed with 12 points.

St. Patrick (2-12) got 13 points from Amari Myrick and 10 each from Abi Ignacio and Gabe Sammons.

The Lady Panthers scored the first points of the girls' game, led 30-5 at the end of the first quarter and won 69-39.

Kenzington Hinson scored a game-high 19 points for Augusta (10-9). Laci Tackett followed with 15 points including her 1,000th career point. Reagan Tackett added 13 points.

St. Patrick (2-9) was paced by Emma Gallenstein with 15 points and Lillian Klee with 14 points.

The Saints are back in action Thursday night at home vs. Villa Madonna. The Panthers will host Bracken County on Friday night. The Lady Panthers' next game is Saturday afternoon vs. Lloyd Memorial. The Lady Saints will host Harrison County on Saturday afternoon.
