Mason County pitcher Landon Scilley homered and earned his fourth win of the season as the Royals shutout the Bracken County Polar Bears 4-0 in Brooksville Thursday to clinch the No. 1 seed in the 39th District Tournament and get an automatic berth into the 10th Region Tournament.
Scilley and Eli Porter combined on a four-hitter. Scilley struck out 10 and walked one in four innings. Porter struck eight and walked three in three innings.
Mason County is 18-6 overall and 4-0 in district play.
Under the three-team format, Bracken County and Augusta will meet in a semifinal game with the winner playing Mason County in the championship game.
The Royals' next game is Monday at 6 p.m. at Frankfort.
