Landon Scilley hit a solo home run in the first inning and Cray Fite hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to help the Mason County Royals beat the Bracken County Polar Bears 10-1 in the championship game of the 39th District baseball tournament at Mason County Wednesday evening.
The Royals have won seven straight district championships.
Scilley and Fite combined on a three-hitter. Scilley struck out nine and walked two in five innings and earned his sixth win of the season.. Fite struck out two and walked one in two innings
Mason County scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second inning, two in the third inning and five in the fifth inning to improve its record to 22-7.
Mason County and Bracken County both advance to the 10th Region Tournament.
