Lady Royals and Royals sweep Georgetown Kick-off track and field meet

The Mason County girls' and boys' track and field teams swept the Georgetown High School Kick-off meet in dominating fashion Tuesday evening.

Th Lady Royals racked up 160 points while the Royals finished with 189 points. Goshen finished second in both meets - the girls with 108 points and the boys with 107 points.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

  • Lexi Young, long jump, (15-11.75), high jump (5-2), 100 meter dash (13.12) and 200 meter dash (27.65)
  • Ava Thompson, pole vault (10-1)
  • Morgan Carpenter, 400 meter dash (1:05.67)
  • Paige Decker, 1600 meter run (5:32.88)
  • The girls' 4x100 meter relay team of Cece Hiatt, Madison Howard, Ava Thompson and Neveah Wright (54.31) 
  • The girls' 4x200 meter relay team of Morgan Carpenter, Alexis Decker, Sarah Payne and Hadley Maher (1:55.16)
  • The girls' 4x800 meter relay team of Jennifer Buttery, Paige Decker, Kolby Galloway and Elizabeth Lavinder (10:34.17)
  • AJ Barrett, pole vault (13-0)
  • Carter Sanders, shot put (48-0)
  • Nazir Metts, long jump (17-3)
  • CJ Arthur, 100 meter dash (11.49) and 200 meter dash (23.71)
  • Austin Moreland, 300 meter hurdles (43.67)
  • Elijah Reed, 400 meter dash (56.75)
  • Peyton Ullery, 1600 meter run (4:44.20)
  • The boys' 4x100 meter relay team of CJ Arthur, Jonathan Jones, Keshaun Thomas and Brady Sanders (46.55)
  • The boys' 4x200 meter relay team of Carson Hicks, Jonathan Jones, Austin Moreland and Brady Sanders (1:38.58)
  • The boys' 4x800 meter relay team of Dashawn Overly, Elijah Reed, Peyton Ullery and Philip Bierley (8:49.87)
Mason County will compete at the Holmes Invitational in Covington Saturday.
