The Mason County Lady Royals' fourth quarter rally came up short in a 41-36 loss to the Bath County Lady Wildcats in Owingsville on Wednesday night.
There four ties and six lead changes before Bath County led 30-24 at the end of the third quarter.
The Lady Royals twice closed to within a point in the fourth quarter. The last time was when Lexi Young hit a reverse layup to make the score 37-36 with 55 seconds left, but the Lady Royals would not score again and Bath County made 4-of-4 free throws in the final 27 seconds.
Avery Sims was Mason County's leading scorer with eight points.
The Lady Royals (7-10) will host the Montgomery County Lady Indians at The Fieldhouse on Friday night.
