The Mason County Royals suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday night, falling to the North Oldham Mustangs 65-51 in the semifinals of the White, Greer & Maggard Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic.
After trailing by seven points at halftime, the Royals rallied to tie the score at 34-34 with 1:22 left in the third quarter.
North Oldham (11-4) was up by four points at the end of the third quarter and opened the fourth quarter on a 13-3 run to lead 53-39 with 3:39 to play.
Terrell Henry hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 10 at 59-49 with 1:22 remaining, but that's as close as Mason County would get.
The Royals shot just 42 percent from the field.
Henry scored a game-high 22 points. KG Walton scored 10 points before fouling with 4:03 left in the game
Mason County (10-1) will play Lyon County in the third place game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The Royals beat Lyon County 75-72 on December 3 at Jackson County.
