Mason County's Lexi Young is a middle school state champion in three events

Mason County eighth grader Lexi Young is a middle school track and field champion in three events.

Young won the 100 meter dash (12.53), the 200 meter dash (26.22) and the long jump (17-08.75) at the KTCCA Middle School State Championships at Eastern High School on Saturday. She finished in fourth-place in the high jump (4-08.00).

Young, the only Mason County girl who qualified for the middle school state meet, earned enough points for a fourth-place finish in the team rankings. She will compete in KHSAA Class 2A state high school championships on Friday.

Mason County eighth grader Keenan Galloway medaled with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault with a personal record of 9-06.00.
