A total of six Mason County school records broken at state meet

Mason County track athletes broke four more school records at the KTCCCA Class AA Indoor State Championships on Saturday in addition to the two broken by AJ Barrett and Lexi Young.

Mason County coach Mark Kackler said the previously unreported new records include:

  • Paige Decker, 800 meters, (2:29.00)
  • Layla Henderson, 1500 meters, (5.09.48) and 3000 meters (10:54.30)
  • The girls' 4x800 meter relay team of Henderson, Decker, Alyssa Bisotti and Elizabeth Lavinder.
Barrett cleared 13-06.00, breaking his own school record and to winning pole vault state championship. 

Young, who was the state champion high jumper, finished third in the long jump, breaking her own school record with a jump of 16-07.75.
