The Mason County Royals’ season ended with a 38-10 loss to the East Carter Raiders in the region championship game Friday night in Grayson.
East Carter running back Charlie Terry rushed 65 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game. Terry rushed for 236 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries.
Mason County’s scores came on a four yard run by Brady Sanders and 39 yard field goal by Ashton Adams in the first quarter.
The Royals had four red zone drives in the second half, but we’re unable to score.
Mason County ends the season with a 9-4 record under first year coach Joe Wynn.
East Carter will host Belfry in the Class AAA state semifinals.
