The Mason County Lady Royals finished in 11th place in the KHSAA Class AA State Track and Field Championships today at the University of Kentucky.
Mason County ended up with 25 points. Christian Academy of Louisville won the state championship with 80 points.
Mason County athletes who won medals include:
Rachel Payne, 300 meter hurdles, (3rd place, 47.95) and high jump, (4th place, 5-00.00)
Karis Applegate, 100 meter dash, (7th place, 12.75) and 200 meter dash, (6th place, 26.69)
Elizabeth Lavinder, (7th place, 12:09.60)
Lexi Young, long jump, (6th place, 16-09.00)
The 4x800 meter relay team of Kynedee Mauney, Paige Decker, Hayden Faris and Layla Henderson, (8th place, 10:32.44)
The 4x100 meter relay team of Karis Applegate, Kenzie Gulley, Madison Hall and Neveah Wright, (6th place, 51.09)
