Lady Royals take fourth place in the Class AA state XC meet

The Mason County Lady Royals took fourth place in the Class AA state cross country meet today at the Bourbon County Cross Country Course. 

It's Mason County's third straight podium finish at state. The Lady Royals took third place in 2018 and fourth place last year.

Calvary Christian of Louisville won the state championship with 97 points. Highlands was the runner-up with 112 points followed by Scott with 125 points and Mason County with 132 points.

Mason County was led by Paige Decker with a third place finish (19:47.79). Alyssa Bisotti was 13th (20:44.88), Layla Henderson was 24th (21:07.94), Elizabeth Lavinder was 30th (21:22.65), Hayden Faris was 75th (22:43.14), Morgan Carpenter was 86th (22:59.28) and Rachel Payne was 123rd (23:58.70).

Mason County had two individual qualifiers in the boys' state meet. Carson Adams finished in 69th place (18:44.17) and Deshawn Overley was 123rd (19:34.91)
