The Mason County Lady Royals golf team failed to qualify for the state tournament, but two members of the team- senior Haley White and freshman Macey Littleton- qualified for state as individuals.
The Boyd County Lady Lions won the 12th Region Tournament today at Hidden Cove Golf Course in Grayson with a score of 356 followed by the Ashland Kittens at 388 and the Lady Royals at 401.
The region champion and the seven individuals with the lowest scores not on the winning team advance to the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Tournament October 7-9 at Bowling Green Country Club.
White was the third overall individual with an 83. Littleton was the sixth overall individual with an 89.
Charity Arn shot a 107 and Morgan Parker a 121 to round out the Lady Royals' scoring.
