Four more memorable Mason County football wins

Last week I wrote a post about 26 memorable Mason County football wins.

My Twitter followers pointed out a couple of glaring omissions, so here we go again. Here are four more memorable victories in chronological order:

Mason County 22, Lewis County 21
October 31, 1980
The Royals scored 22 unanswered points to pull out a one-point win and ended the season with a 5-5 record.

Mason County 32, Russell 28
October 5, 2012
The Royals rallied from a 28-10 fourth quarter deficit for the four-point win in Flatwoods.

Mason County 32, Newport 28
August 23, 2014
The game was suspended by lightning with Newport leading 6-0 with 3:27 left in the first quarter. The game resumed the next night and the Royals rallied from a nine-point deficit for the season-opening victory.

Mason County 54, Harrison County 48
October 7, 2017
Mason County rallied from a 19-point fourth quarter deficit to win in double overtime. Malkolm Devine rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Mason County quarterback Chandler Dunaway passed for 123 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Between the two blog posts, that's 30 wins, 13% of Mason County all-time victories.
