Corey Richmond began the day with a five-shot lead and won the 27th Laurel Oaks Classic by five shots today at Laurel Oaks Golf Course, but second place finisher Tyler Lippert made things interesting.
Lippert, who began the day seven shots off the lead, closed to within one shot by firing a five-under 31 on the front side while Richmond shot a 37.
Richmond and Lippert were tied through 12 holes. Richmond regained the lead with a birdie on No. 13, but Lippert answered with a birdie on No. 14.
Richmond took a three-shot lead with a par on No.15 and birdie on No.16 while Lippert had back-to-back bogeys.
They both birdie the par 5 17th.
Richmond finished with a birdie while Lippert three-putted for a bogey.
Richmond shot a two-under 70 today for a 36-hole total of 13-under 131.
Lippert shot a 68 for the second straight day.
Mark Moore, Troy Grooms and Tad Barton tied for third place at seven-under 137.
Kevin Lawson and Luke Fuller tied for first place in the first flight with 140s.
Rex Schalch won the second flight at 150.
