Mason County senior Lexy Cooper signed today to play softball at Midway University.
"It's a really small campus, that's what I really wanted in a college," Cooper said. "I don't want anything big and too open. It just felt like kinda like a home, it was so cozy everywhere, and everybody was real nice and welcoming."
Mason County coach Adam Sapp said Cooper "is a good softball player and will be an asset to Midway's program for the next four year."
Midway head coach Tripp Swisher attended the signing ceremony.
"We are always at Midway softball looking for talented players, but it's very important to us to make sure that we're bringing in quality people, and that was certainly evident getting to know Lexy and her parents," Swisher said. "And so we're just excited about the person that we're bringing as much as the ballplayer."
Cooper said she is undecided on a major.
