Saints end season with an 80-71 loss to Bracken County

St. Patrick's season came to end tonight with an 80-71 loss to the Bracken County Polar Bears in the semifinals of the 39th District Tournament at The Fieldhouse, but the Saints did not go down without a fight.

After trailing 43-28 in the third quarter, the Saints put together a rally. An old fashioned three-point play by Jack Gallenstein cut the Polar Bear's lead to 64-60 with 3:28 left in the game, but Bracken County answered with a 13-2 run to lead 77-62 with just under a minute to play. 

Riley Mastin led the Saints in scoring with 18 points. Pat McKay followed with 16 points, Braylon Hamilton tossed in 13 points and Gallenstein had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Bracken County was led by Kason Hinson with 24 points. Jhace Cummins scored 15 points. Travis Tucker followed with 13 points and Nathan Jefferson added 11 points.

Bracken County will play Mason County in the championship game Thursday night.
