The Mason County Royals snapped out of slump by beating the Rowan County Vikings 71-51 Friday night at The Fieldhouse.
Mason County had lost two straight games and six of its last eight. Rowan County entered the game with a 23-4 record, but the Royals scored 18 points off the Rowan County's 17 turnovers and outrebounded the Vikings 41-27.
Mason County outscored Rowan County 21-12 in the second quarter.
Xylon Frey led the Royals in scoring with 17 points. Jaylen Lofton and Carson Brammer scored 16 points apiece.
Mason County plays Augusta Monday at 8 p.m. in the semifinals of the 39th District Tournament at The Fieldhouse.
