News and notes

Here are some news and notes for your Wednesday:

• Tryouts for the Mason County Lady Royals softball team will be held Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Straub Elementary School. You need a current physical to tryout.

• Open tryouts for the Mason County Royals baseball team are set for Wednesday, February 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the STEAM Academy building. The tryouts are for high school students only. A current physical is also required for the baseball tryouts.

• The start time for the Villa Madonna at St. Patrick boys' basketball game Friday night has been changed to 7 p.m. There will not be a junior varsity game.

• The 39th District basketball tournaments begin Monday at The Fieldhouse. It's Mason County vs. Augusta on Monday and St. Patrick vs. Bracken County on Tuesday. The championship games are set for Thursday, February 21st. The girls' game is first each night at 6:30.

• The dates for the boys' 10th Region tournament at The Fieldhouse are February 25th and 26th and March 1st and 2nd.

• The dates for the girls' 10th Region Tournament at the Montgomery County High School Arena are February 27th and 28th and March 4th and 5th.
