Dixie Heights made 13-of-17 shots (76.5 percent) in the first half and led 34-21 at the half.
The Colonels had their biggest lead of the game at 43-25 with 5:51 left in the third quarter. The Royals closed to within one at 61-60 with three minutes remaining in the game, but Dixie Heights scored the final 11 points of the game.
Dixie Heights shot 63.9 percent for the game and outrebounded Mason County 34-14. The Colonels made 19-of-22 free throws.
The loss snapped the Royals' three-game winning streak.
Jaylen Lofton scored a game-high 24 points. Carson Brammer scored 14 points and Xylon Frey added 10 points.
Mason County hosts Lewis County Thursday night.
