Royals head to Paris to play the Bourbon County Colonels

The Mason County Royals, coming off  a 50-0 district-opening loss to the Scott Eagles, travel to Paris tonight to play the Bourbon County Colonels.

Both teams are 2-3.

It's the district opener for the Colonels who have been outscored 138-28 in three straight losses.

Bourbon County lost to Madison Central, a Class 6A team, 43-0 last week.

Bourbon County senior running back CaMaar Myers has rushed for 633 yards and eight touchdowns. He ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns in the Colonels' season-opening victory over Clay County.

Last season the Colonels stopped the Royals' conversion run with a 41 seconds left in the game to hang on for a 27-26 victory.

Bourbon County leads the series 10-4 and has won the last five meetings.

The Royals' last win over the Colonels was in 2010.

Kickoff is at 7:30.
