Mason County sophomore Hayden Faris won the girls varsity cross country race for the second straight year and led the Lady Royals to the team title at the Ripley Invitational today.
The Lady Royals have won their first two meets of the season.
Faris finished in a time of 20:52. Mason County freshmen Alyssa Bisotti was the runner-up (21:32) and Mason County freshman Kylee Howe finished in third place (22:11).
Two other Mason County runners finished in the top 20- senior Olivia O'Hearn in 11th place (24:22) and senior Kyndal Dotson in 16th place (25:31).
St. Patrick freshman Allison Hughes took 17th place (25:33).
Mason County junior Isaiah Riggs took second place in the boys race (18:13) and led the Royals to a fourth place finish.
Other local boys in the top 20 include St. Patrick senior Paco Franco (7th in 19:10), St. Patrick junior Willie Franco (12th in 19:44), Mason County sophomore Carson Adams (16th in 19:59) and Mason County junior Nicholas Drury (20th in 20:29).
