Knox and Metzger share the lead in 51st Firecracker

B.J. Knox and Brett Metzger share the lead after the first round of the 51st Firecracker golf tournament at Kenton Station Golf Course.

Knox and Metzger both fired nine-under 61s. Knox won medalist honors based on a scorecard playoff.

Knox shot a 31 on the front side and 30 on the back side, while Metzger shot a 30 on the front side and a 31 on the back side.

Twenty-four golfers shot in the 60s on the par 70 course.

Deron Feldhaus, Jordan Gilbert, Logan McIntosh and Jackson Frame are tied for third place at seven-under 63.

Jake O'Mara is another shot back at six-under 64.
