Four former champions advance to the semifinals of the Chippeways

Four former champions with a combined 10 titles have advanced to the semifinals of the 83rd Chippeways golf tournament at Maysville Country Club.

In today's quarterfinal round matches, defending champion and two-time winner Jackson Frame defeated 2006 champion Bill O'Mara, 2012 champion Troy Grooms beat Dee Hampton, five-time champion Eric Schumacher was a winner over Jake O'Mara, and two-time champion Drew Traxel topped Josh Weber.

Frame and Grooms square-off in the semifinals for the second straight year. Schumacher and Traxel meet in the other semifinal match.

The semifinal matches tee off at 9 a.m. Sunday. The winners advance to the championship match Sunday afternoon.
