Ripley bowlers Jolley and Moore sign with Shawnee State University

Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School and Shawnee State University both started bowling teams last season. Wednesday, Ripley seniors Meghan Jolley and Blake Moore signed to bowl and continue their education at Shawnee State.

Jolley had never bowled until Ripley started the team. She said wanted to do something different her senior year.

"I picked it up really quickly and enjoyed it a lot, and had a lot of support, so it was fun," Jolley said.

Moore anchored the Blue Jays' team and said he felt like "I had to step up as like a captain-type of role on the team, so I tried to give as much pointers as I could to the all new people."

Ripley coach Jeff Wallace said Jolley and Moore were pretty much the heart of the Blue Jays' program.

"They're new to the sport, we're new to the sport, so I just see it's a great fit," Shawnee State coach Bryan Sturgill said. "Both seem like really great kids and that's what we're looking for at Shawnee."

The signings took place at Town and Country Bowling Lanes where Ripley played its home matches.
