Lady Royals top Newport 56-46

The Mason County Lady Royals bounced back from Saturday's lopsided loss to top ranked Mercer County by defeating the Newport Lady Wildcats 56-46 tonight at The Fieldhouse.

Mason County shot 47.7 percent from the field and scored 21 points off Newport's 22 turnovers.

AJ Reed led the Lady Royals in scoring with 14 points.

Kara Moran followed with 13 points and Victoria Brooks added 11 points.

The Lady Royals host the Lewis County Lady Lions Thursday at 8 p.m. in the US Bank Mike Murphy Classic.
