Mason Co. host Scott in district opener tonight

The Mason County Royals, coming off their bye week, host the Scott Eagles tonight in the district opener for both teams.

Mason County routed Morgan County 67-14 on September 8th to run its record to 3-1.

Scott is 2-2 with wins over Dixie Heights (42-27) and Holy Cross (62-13), and losses to Newport Central Catholic (17-7) and Conner (47-27).

The Eagles have rushed for 1,263 yards this season with the Perrin brothers leading the way.
Quincy Perrin has racked up 550 yards and five touchdowns on 54 carries. Nelson Perrin has rushed for 273 yards and three touchdowns.

David Patrick has rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns.

Chad Ohmer, the brother of former Scott basketball standout Jake Ohmer, is the Eagles' starting quarterback. Chad Ohmer has only attempted 36 passes this season.

In the last two games, Mason County quarterback Chandler Dunaway has passed for 548 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

  • Mason County's win over Morgan County in West Liberty was the 100th road victory in the history of the program. The Royals' all-time road record is 100-112.
  • The Royals' 10 touchdowns in the win over Morgan County tied the school record.
  • Mason County leads the series with Scott 5-3. The Royals beat the Eagles 21-15 in Taylor Mill last season.
  • Tonight's game is sponsored by US Bank.
  • The 1967 Maysville Bulldogs football team will be recognized at halftime.
