Red Hot Boyd Co. routs Mason Co. 102-76

For the second straight night a hot shooting team handed the Mason County Royals a lopsided loss.

The Boyd County Lions were 16-of-27 (59.3 percent) from three-point range and routed Mason County 102-76 tonight at Boyd County.

The Royals were playing without leading scorer Leevi Dunaway who is suspended until next Saturday.

Boyd County hit nine of 17 three-point shots in the first half and were up 49-35 at halftime.

The Lions led by as many as 30 points in the fourth quarter.

Boyd County center Hunter Kenser had a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

Mason County was led in scoring by Jaylen Lofton with 21 points.

Ty Fox followed with 19 points and Sam Kumler added 11 points.

The Royals shot 50.8 percent from the field, but were just 1-of-13 from behind the arc.

Mason County has lost three straight games and 10 of the last 12.

The Royals play at Montgomery County Tuesday night.
