Red Hot Greenup Co. Beats Mason Co. 85-77

The Greenup County Musketeers shot 55.6 percent from three-point range and defeated the Mason County Royals 85-77 Tuesday night at Greenup County.

The Musketeers jumped out to a 10-0 lead. The Royals rallied to take a 24-21 lead in the second quarter. Greenup County ended the first half with another 10-0 run to lead 39-26. Mason County rallied to within a point at the end of the third quarter and scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to lead 61-56. The Musketeers answered with 16 straight points as part of a 22-2 run.

Greenup County sophomore Gage Hughes scored a game-high 29 points and scored his 1,000th career point.

Conner Sweeney scored a career-high 26 points for Mason County. Antwavon "Pig Williams followed with 21 and Isaiah Garrison added 14.
