The Mason County Royals have already clinched their third straight district championship. Tonight, they will be looking to go 4-0 in district play for the third consecutive year when they play the Fleming County Panthers in Flemingsburg. Fleming County is 1-7 overall and 1-2 in the district. The Panthers defeated Lewis County 14-10 on Sept. 24. Since then, Fleming County has been outscored 137-14 in losses to Russell, West Carter and Newport. The Panthers were hit hard by graduation last year and have had numerous injuries this season. Junior quarterback Chris Jones suffered a broken collarbone in the loss to Russell. His replacement is sophomore Desmond McAdams. Mason County leads the series with Fleming County 17-16. The Royals have won five straight and eight of the last nine against the Panthers. Kickoff is at 7:30.
(Edited to correct Fleming County's record.)
