Blakefield makes the cut at South Georgia Classic

Mark Blakefield shot a two-over-par 74 today in the second round of the South Georgia Classic on the Nationwide Tour and made the 36-hole cut on the number. Blakefield is one-over for the tournament and is 12 shots off the lead. He got off to a fast start today with birdies on No. 2 and No. 4 to get to three-under for the tournament. But he bogeyed No. 7 and No. 9 and had a double-bogey on No. 10. That put him at one-over. Blakefield birdied No. 11 to get back to even par. But he bogeyed the Par 3 14th for the second straight day to drop back down to one-over. Blakefield parred the final four holes. When he finished his round, the projected cut was even par, but the cut line ended up being one-over, and Blakefield will be playing on the weekend in a Nationwide Tour event for the first time in his career.
