Adkins set school record in 200 meters

Mason County senior Seth Adkins set a school record in the boys' 200 meter dash in a time of 21.9 seconds at the Fleming County All-Comers meet Thursday evening. He also won the 100 meter dash and is a member of the boys' 4x200 meter relay team that won. Other first place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

• Ashley Deatley, girls' 400 meter dash;
• Valerie Rice, girls' 800 meter run;
• Julia Woods, girls' 3200 meter run and girls' pole vault;
  
• Iretta Carpenter, girls' 100 meter hurdles and girls' 300 meter hurdles;
• Girls' 4x800 meter relay (Valerie Rice, Sarah Bellingham, Raylee Kirkland and Julia Woods);
• Boys 4x200 meter relay (Seth Adkins, Malcolm Jones, Bradley Lang and Colt Fearis);
• Boys' 4x800 meter relay (Jim Myers, Nick Robinson, Nathan Woods and Dylan Banks);
