Clark County holds off Scott 44-38

The Clark County Cardinals held off the upset-minded Scott Eagles 44-38 tonight in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 10th Region Tournament at The Fieldhouse. The game was tied at the end of the third quarter. Clark County opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back three-pointers. Scott rallied to take the lead at 33-32. Clark County then went on an 8-1 run and Scott never got closer than four the rest of the way. Clark County's run included four free throws on a personal foul and a technical foul. Vinny Zollo had a double-double for Clark County with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Robbie Stenzel added 11 points. Kellen Smith had a game-high 15 points for Scott. Jacob Niederegger added 12 points. Clark County advances to the championship game Monday night to play the winner of the second semifinal between Mason County and Pendleton County. That game tips-off tonight at 8:30.
