Bill Tolle of Mason County, a member of the Kentucky State Fair Board, was among the officials who signed the final piece of steel for the new Louisville Arena in a ceremony today at the construction site in downtown Louisville. The Kentucky State Fair Board will manage the day-to-day operation of the $238 million arena. Governor Beshear, Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson and Jim Host, chairman of the Louisville Arena Authority, also signed the steel.
The arena, scheduled to open in November, will replace Freedom Hall as the home of the University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams. Here is the link to the Louisville Arena website.
