The Mason County Royals host the Pike County Central Hawks tonight in the second round of the Class 3A football playoffs. It could be a high scoring game. Mason County (11-0) averages 37.2 points a game. Pike Central (6-5) averages 34 points a game. In first round games last week, Mason County routed East Ridge 62-6, while Pike Central outscored Fleming County 74-50 for the first playoff win in school history. The Hawks had 546 yards of total offense last week. This is the first meeting between Mason County and Pike Central. The winner of tonight's game will advance to the Region 4 championship game against the winner of the Sheldon Clark at Belfry game. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The tailgate party is from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes a fishtail sandwich, cole slaw, brown beans, cornbread, dessert and a drink. The cost is $5.
