The Mason County Royals jumped out to a 41-7 lead at the half and routed the Danville Admirals 48-21 tonight in the Meadowview Regional Medical Center Kickoff Classic.
Mason County was up 7-0 when Danville had 3rd and goal from the one-yard line. The Admirals fumbled and Josh Harris grabbed the ball out of the air and raced a school record 99 yards for a touchdown. Harris also rushed for two more touchdowns. Neal Pawsat completed 11 of 15 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Danville had five turnovers. The win is the 100th for Coach David Buchanan at Mason County. The Royals host the Montgomery County Indians next Friday night.

Note: The Royals are wearing a black Ragin' Royal memorial decal in memory of former Superintendent Felici Felice. Mr. Felice was instrumental in starting football at Mason County High School. He died August 3. The crowd observed a moment of silence before the National Anthem tonight.
