Wet spring = few baseball and softball games

The rainy, cool spring has played havoc with the high school baseball and softball schedules. The Mason County Lady Royals softball team has had six games called off including yesterday's home game against Campbell County. The game started and then the rain came with two out in the top of the first inning. Nine Mason County baseball games have been cancelled due to rain or wet field conditions. The St. Patrick baseball and softball teams haven't had as many games cancelled by the weather because their early season schedules were light due to spring break and Holy Week. Still, the St. Patrick baseball team has only played five games. The St. Patrick softball team has played eight games and has won seven of them. The good news is the forecast calls for sunshine and much warmer temperatures beginning tomorrow.
