Mason County track and field teams compete in the Tates Creek Open

The Mason County track and field teams took part in their first outdoor meet of the season Saturday at the Tates Creek Open. Mason County won the boys' middle school meet and finished fifth in the girls' middle school meet. Mason County was third in the girls' high school meet and ninth in the boys' high school meet. First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

High School
  • Katie Redmond, girls' 3200 meter run (13:17.80)
  • Iretta Carpenter, girls' 300 meter hurdles (51.53 )
  • Jim Myers boys' 3200 meter run (11:05.73)

Middle School

  • Tee King boys' 100 meter dash (12.30)
  • Tee King boys' high jump (4-10.00)
  • Nick Robinson boys' 800 meter run (2.24.44)
  • Nick Robinson boys' 1600 meter run (5.25.81)
  • Cara Woods girls' 3200 meter run (15.42.31)
  • Boys' 4x100 meter relay (55.55)
  • Boys' 4x200 meter relay (1:56.86)
