On the third day of spring practice, the Mason County football team had a scrimmage in the rain today.
"We went about 65 plays," Coach David Buchanan wrote in an e-mail message. "The first offense got about 35. We executed very well considering we have only had 2 days of practice. The continuity of doing the same thing for 14 years is really helping us. We got in about 20 sets today, ran several plays, no huddle, etc. and it wasn't too bad. The continuity is a big advantage for us and helps us probably more than we realize. Defensively we had some good individual stuff, but it was pieced together. We like having more experience up front than we have had on both sides of the ball."
The annual spring game is scheduled Friday, April 3.
(Edited to correct the date of the spring game.)
