Lady Royals win meet, and Westin Stahl sets school record

The Mason County Lady Royals won the girls' indoor track meet and Mason County senior Westin Stahl set a school record today at the US Bank/Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic Complex. The Lady Royals had 85 points. Oldham County finished second with 46. Stahl set a school record in the boys' 800 meter run (2:17.93). Mason County 8th grader Julia Woods won the girls' 1600 meter high school run (6:18.77). Mason County junior Jim Meyer won the boys' 16oo meter run (5:23.56). Mason County junior Ashley Deatley won the girls' high jump (4-06.00). Mason County won the boys' 4x400 meter relay (4:02.40) and the girls' 4x800 meter relay (11:44.53).

(Edited because the earlier posted stated Mason County junior Malcolm Jones had set a school record in the boys' 55 meter dash. Mason County Coach Mark Kachler said in an e-mail message that evidently there was a glitch in the sprint times. Jones' time of 7.07 was not a school record.
His time was originally posted incorrectly at 6:18.77.)
