Lady Royals lose season opener 56-55

The Mason County Lady Royals lost their season opener 56-55 to the Bracken County Lady Bears tonight. The Lady Royals trailed 52-46 with three minutes to play, but went on an 8-0 run to lead 54-52. Bracken County regained the lead at 55-54. Mason County made 1-of-2 free throws to tie it at 55-55. Bracken County's Haley Ware was fouled with 13.1 seconds to play. She missed the first free throw, but made the second. Mason County missed a three-pointer with four seconds to go and Bracken County got the rebound to secure the win. Hannah Haight led Bracken County with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Ware added 12 points. Keller Menke had a double-double for Mason County- 15 points and 13 rebounds. McKenzie Butler and Bailey Menke added 12 points apiece for the Lady Royals.
