The Mason County boys' basketball program has lost another family member. Longtime statistician Junie Housh died today. Junie was the Royals' stat man for more than 20 years. He kept the statistics on a clipboard long before laptops and fancy software programs came along.
Housh continued to support the Royals after he stepped down as the statistician. He was a fixture at The Fieldhouse sitting with Dickie Butler in their "Skybox" on the stage. Junie and his wife, Joyce, were my youth leaders at Washington United Methodist Church when I was a teenager. He will be missed. My condolences to Joyce.
