The Mason County Royals used a 14-1 run in the third quarter to pull away from Lexington Christian Academy in a 71-38 win tonight in the Lexington Catholic Holiday Classic.
LCA cut Mason County's 12 point halftime lead to eight at 30-22 and the Royals didn't score in the third quarter until the 5:02 mark. But the 14-1 run in less than four minutes put Mason County up 44-23. Four Royals scored in double figures-Russ Middleton and Darius Miller with 12 points apiece, Trevor Setty with 11 and Jackson Tolle scored 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting.
Mason County plays June Buchanan at 8:30 pm Friday in the quarterfinals.
