Mason County 5th, St. Patrick 12th in Boys' Region Golf Tourney

Mason County finished 5th and St. Patrick 12th in the boys' Region Nine Golf Tournament today at A.J. Jolly Golf Course in Campbell County. Highlands won the region title with a 326. Grant County was the runner-up at 331. Highlands and Grant County both advance to the state tournament. Mason County had a team total of 345. Mason County senior Dustin Orme shot an 81 and finished 7th in the individual competition. St. Patrick had a team score of 392. Freshmen Russell Rigg had the Saints' low score with an 84. Deming senior Josh Goddard shot a 78 and is an individual qualifier for the Leachman Buick and GMC KHSAA State Golf Tournament next week at Bowling Green Country Club.
