Chris Lofton scored 21 points but the Tennessee Volunteers lost to the LSU Tigers 76-67 in overtime in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Lofton scored the first seven points of the game and his tip-in with 12 seconds left tied the game and forced overtime.
Lofton hit three three-pointers, becoming the third player in SEC history to hit 300 three-pointers in a career. He also reached the 1,500-point mark his career. Lofton now has 1,503 points. I know I've said it before, but it still seems to me that Lofton's teammates fail to get him the ball in several stretches of the game. In my opinion, if he gets more looks throughout the game, it doesn't go into overtime. If the Volunteers continue to play that way they won't last long in the NCAA tournament.
