Girls' 10th Region Semis Tonight

The semifnals of the Girls' 10th Region Tournament will be played tonight at
Montgomery County.

6:30 p.m. Montgomery County vs. Harrison County
  • The Montgomery County Lady Indians are 27-5. They've won 11 straight games since back-to-back road losses to Breathitt County and Mason County. The Lady Indians average winning margin during the winning streak is 33.5 points per game. Montgomery County is the two-time defending champion of the Girls' 10th Region Tournament.
  • The Harrison County Fillies are 18-11 and have won four in row. The Fillies are shooting for their first trip to the region final since 2004 when they lost to Paris 45-42.

The two teams have not played each other in the regular season since the 2001-02 season.

8:15 Bishop Brossart vs. Mason County

  • The Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs are 20-7. They've won three straight games after ending the regular season with back-t0-back losses.
  • The Lady 'Stangs are trying to get to the region championship game for the second year. Bishop Brossart lost to Montgomery County 51-32 in last year's region final.
  • The Mason County Lady Royals are 21-9 after pulling out a 56-55 first round win over Clark County. The Lady Royals are on a 10 game winning streak after losing three straight games in January.
  • Mason County is trying to advance to the region championship game for the second time in three years. The Lady Royals lost to Montgomery County 71-69 in overtime in the 2005 region final.
  • Mason County beat Bishop Brossart 63-48 on the Lady 'Stangs' homecourt Jan. 22.
