Shotwell Takes First Place at Five Star Classic

Campbell County wrestler Korey Shotwell, a freshman from Maysville, won first place at the Five Star Classic Saturday at Lafayette. In the first round, Shotwell pinned his opponent from Bryan Station. Shotwell avenged his only Kentucky loss with a 13-1 major decision over Lafayette in the second round. Shotwell won a major decision 11-1 over Central Hardin in the third round. In the semi-finals, Shotwell won an 8-6 decision over Larue County (ranked 3rd in the state). In the championship match, Shotwell won a 2-0 decision over John Hardin.
