Darius Miller scored a career high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Mason County Royals to an 83-39 win over the Bracken County Polar Bears tonight in the opening game of the Pepsi Mason County Invitational Tournament. The Royals started off slow and coach Chris O'Hearn benched the starters with 6:09 left in the first quarter. After they came back in a couple of minutes later, the Royals scored 13 straight points to take control of the game. Miller scored 18 of Mason County's 22 first quarter points. He scored 26 points in the first half. For the game, Miller made 12 of 21 shots including two of four on three-point shots. He was five of six from the free throw line and had seven offensive rebounds. Trevor Setty scored 19 points and Nathan Stahl scored a career high 12 points. Bracken County was led in scoring by Ben Smith with 14 points. The Royals will play the Harrison County Thorobreds in the semi-finals Friday at 6:30 p.m. Harrison County edged Pendleton County 45-44 tonight.
