Just back from Flemingsburg where the Mason County Royals beat the Fleming County Panthers 22-12 in the Covered Bridge Bowl. The Royals got off to a quick start and led 15-0 with 7:15 left in the first quarter. It was 22-6 at halftime. Mason County has won 10 of the last 12 games against Fleming County. Royals quarterback Richie Cox threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Fullback Chris Marshall rushed for 81 yards and a TD. Fleming County tailback Bradley McIntyre rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns. McIntyre and Mason County defensive end Richard Wells were named Most Valuable Players of the game.
