Colin Faris swam in the 2006 Speedo USA Swimming Junior National Championships
last week in Irvine, California. He finished 43rd out of 115 in the 50 Meter Freestyle in a time of 24.44 seconds. He was 106th in the 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 55.81. Faris qualified for the Junior Nationals by finishing second in the 50 Meter Freestyle at the Southern Zone Championship in Atlanta, Georgia.
Amanda Miller also swam for the Kentucky Zone Team in Atlanta. She was 32nd out of 64 in the 50 Meter Breaststroke (29.36), 64th out of 78 in the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:05.49), 27th out of 41 in the 100 Meter Breaststroke (1:25.08) and 24th out of 33 in the 200 Meter Breaststroke (3:03.64). Miller also swam for the Kentucky team in the 200 Meter Freestyle Relay and the 200 Medley Relay.
She also swam in the 5K Open Water Swim at Lake Lanier, east of Atlanta. Her time was 72 minutes and 46 seconds.
Russell Rigg also swam a 5K Open Water Swim this summer -- the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida in June. His time was
one hour and 52 minutes. Faris, Miller and Rigg are members of the Limestone Family Stingrays swim team.
