The Board of the Control of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association earlier this month approved a six-class playoff system for football beginning in the 2007 season. Schools have until Monday, August 7th to submit written comments about the tentative alignment. The proposed alignment has Mason County in District 7 of Class AAA with East Carter, Fleming County, Lewis County, Russell and West Carter.
All of those teams are former district opponents of the Royals. Wouldn't it be great to see Mason County and Fleming County as district rivals again? However, if history tells us anything, final alignments in football can be much different than the proposed plans.
Harry Lewis and the Lexington Horsemen play the Sioux Falls Storm in United Bowl II tomorrow night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lewis is one of the most exciting players in United Indoor Football. Look for him to move up to a bigger league next year.
